Portland, Tennessee - Garage Sale

Since Roger's mother's house has been put up for sale, we realized we needed to help his sister prepare and hold garage sales to empty the house.  We arrived in Portland on Friday, June 27, and parked our motor home in the driveway.  We spent seven days getting ready for the first sale.  Saturday, July 5, was the first day of the sale and we held it for eight consecutive days.  We had buyers every day.

On Sunday, July 20, we moved to our son's and daughter-in-law's yard in Portland.  It's always nice to hang out with them.  Roger and Drake enjoyed practice shooting in the back yard.  At 100 yards Drake hit the target 8 out of 10 times, Roger hit 1 out of 10. Another day they went to see the Transformers 4 movie.

Son, Scott, has started to build a rustic cabin/office in their back yard for his firewood, logging, and lumber business.  The outside is going to be cherry wood and the inside will be cedar.

It's time for corn in Tennessee.  I really enjoy the scenery out in the country, but I'm a city girl at heart.  I'm ready to get back to restaurants and a local Walmart.

On Friday, July 25, we drove to Roger's sister's house in Gallatin to stay a week while they took a vacation to New Orleans and a beach in Florida.  This allows us to be close to visit Roger's mom at the assisted living residence on a daily basis.  Family Day at Morningside Assisted Living - L to R - Ola, Roger,Sandra, Jerial
